Sterling Picard, I am fifty four years of age. I have a beautiful and supportive wife (Katie) and two great teenagers, which is in themselves are a challenge! I was born in Mass., but was raised in So. Calif. I hold a B.A. degree in theatre arts with graduate work in music and hold a community college teaching credential in music as well. I moved this past year to the "Great Northwet" state of WA. I'm a published composer and presently am teaching music privately (not to mention my wife and I are opening a new business regarding the real estate and mortgage markets.)

I have always had a love for pens, my early and mid music compositions were inked by an old Pelikan that I still have, before I begrudgingly caught up with the times. I love old hard rubber pens. The smell and feel of holding that much history needs to be awakened and discovered. As you can tell, I'm a pen historian as well. I'm a collector of pens, ads, display cases and various other pen paraphernalia. In particular, my favorite companies are the Sterling Fountain Pen Co. of Boston owned by the Davidson Rubber Co., and A.A. Waterman's, and Carey's of N.Y. Of the big four pen companies, Parker is my favorite. I look forward to sharing and discovering new pieces of the puzzle, so that one day they may all fit together for the benefit of all the pen community, we who love pens.
